Humana is looking for an experienced hardware and software generalist to join our IT Renewal VMO program.
The IT Vendor Management Professional 2 establishes and implements hardware and software acquisition, protection, maintenance and retention policies, standards and procedures that are aligned with IT standards and strategy.
The IT Vendor Management Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
Identify and document vendor SLA's, hardware & software licensing entitlements, licensing allowances, deployment and use annually through research tied to Humana's contracts, license agreements, life cycle management stages and consultation with Humana associates & manufacturers
Facilitate IT & Business' needs on selected vendors and products by ensuring that subscription, maintenance, support and upgrade protection renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration
The IT Vendor Management Professional 2:
Investigates available hardware and software products; evaluates and recommends products based on user requirements.
Reviews licenses and/or contracts to ensure that hardware and software equipment is covered by the contract and properly documented.
Oversees the information technology vendor relationship.
Supports the information technology function, evaluates vendor performance, needs assessment, spend optimization and risk management.
Identifies current technology solutions and works closely with internal partners to understand future needs and to develop cost effective strategies aligned to business objectives.
Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.

Activities
Assess operational risks
Assist in the development of software compliance risk management strategies
Identify savings opportunities for renewals, licensing, and services. Follow through with vendors and Humana internal personnel to obtain identified savings
Manage vendors, contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for hardware/telecom, software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings
Discover and recommend opportunities to improve software license utilization or maintain compliance
Collect pertinent information and maintain databases
Communicate effectively through various channels - email, individual interactions, group meetings, and presentations - to end users, management, developers, and software manufacturers
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
2 years prior sales, project, vendor, or contract management experience working with IT associates
1 year prior experience with general software licensing and SaaS
Preferred Qualifications:
Training in asset, vendor, contract, risk, or supplier management
