Description

The Contract Services team is part of Humana's Enterprise Category Management (corporate procurement) department. We draft, review, negotiate, and advise on contracts for purchases of goods and services for the whole enterprise. We serve as subject matter experts for contractual terms, maintain and develop Humana's contracting standards and processes, and serve as a liaison between the Humana business units who have procurement needs and the corporate functions whose job is to reduce risk.

Responsibilities

The Senior Contract Management Professional is an experienced professional who will be responsible for:


Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and processing procurement contracts, including:
Schedules for goods and services
Statements of Work
Non-Disclosure Agreements
Master Business or Service Agreements
Software license agreements, Cloud services agreements, appliance agreements,
Business Associate Agreements
Information Security Agreements
Serving as the primary and/or secondary Contract Manager aligned to two or more specific procurement categories;
Guiding fellow procurement professionals on contract template selection, drafting, and negotiation strategy;
Advising business partner and related stakeholders on contractual risk and mitigating factors, in the course of negotiations and prior to execution;
Liaising with Legal, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Business Partner Compliance and other internal regulatory/compliance functions to mitigate contractual risk;
Training other associates on use of contracting tools and processes;
Participating in and leading working groups to improve contract templates and processes
Undertaking contract research and review projects on an ad hoc basis;
Making decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree
Juris Doctor or paralegal certification with 3-5 years' experience negotiating commercial procurement contracts; OR 5-7 years' experience without formal legal training
Significant familiarity with procurement concepts and processes


Preferred Qualifications


Significant experience negotiating technology contracts for software, cloud services, performance standards, IT consulting, IT services, technology labor outsourcing, etc., highly preferred
Experience with government procurement (FAR/DFAR) or CMS-related contracting
Experience with Salesforce CRM and/or contract lifecycle management software
Experience drafting contract templates and improving contracting processes
Aptitude for training others on tools and processes
